Christian leaders oppose bill on hate
Group says measure attacks freedoms of speech and religion

WASHINGTON: A hate crimes bill passed by the House yesterday, extending coverage to people victimized because of sexual orientation, gender identity or disability, is attracting opposition from an unusual coalition of Christian leaders.
Proponents say the bill - similar to one the Senate is expected to pass in the next few weeks - is a moral imperative. But some Christians are depicting it as a "thought crimes" bill attacking 1st Amendment freedoms of speech and religion. A coalition of evangelical, fundamentalist and black religious leaders is mounting a furious assault on the bill, airing television ads and mobilizing members to stop its progress. President Bush has said he might veto the measure.

I know this is supposed to be a joke, but geez. What if it said, So many fags, so few baseball bats? I'm sorry to see our side espousing anything resembling hate.
As Rodney King said many years ago:
"Why can't we all just get along?"
I am not above their level of hate towards me. I don't see why I should be. Doing it the nice and easy with them never did a damn bit of good.
They do everything possible to make our lives miserable here in the US.
I had a feeling it would be controversial. I stand by my friend's purchase.
They hate us for who we are, we hate them for their choice in using their religion above science, humanity and simple reason.
I say we win. Groups like Act Up didn't get us to where we are by playing nice.
Another example of how "organized religion" is not a positive force in the universe. There is always an element of "do it my way or suffer the consequences."
